Bill O’Reilly Leaving Fox News

The opinionated golden boy of Fox News has been cashed in amongst sexual harassment accusations. It seems that this storm of controversy is finally the stake through the man’s career that is so polarizing that he may have done the Trump’s routine before the president did. It could be that in his polarizing rhetoric those previous issues were held silent under the opinion that they were just doing so to slander him. In a perfect world, this should invite more investigation to any previous accusations. Fox will not want to do that because anytime a higher moral ground they follow the corporate line of trying to brush it under the rug. All in all the pundit scene on TV will now be quieter, and we should all be more thankful for it.

Gaming Content An Exploding Market

According to a major research report From Superdata gaming content has the market at just over half a billion people ( 655 ) not including the 21 percent increase between now and 2021. This is taking eyes off of prime time TV with many people forgoing it all together to watch their favorite games or streamers. Numbers indicate that this kind of content will be a building block in the future with an impact as great as social media if not greater very soon.

As a gamer, I enjoy these numbers, but I think what should happen is that different stories and shows take it from a different model and whether that be with Youtube, or another video streaming service, or with Twitch so they could replace the live studio audience of older shows. One could also strike a difference. Television is not the king of media and without changing how shows are being broadcast it will go the way of the radio. Clearly, things like Netflix and Hulu are trying but with 100 million and 12 million respectively according to the report and PewdiePie at over 50 it puts things in perspective that games will have a hand in how media will evolve.
